Definition

A definition is a generalization. It tells you what the concept is at an abstract level.

EXAMPLES OF DEFINITION

• A cup is a container for liquids which has only one handle," is a definition of "cup." A picture of a cup would be an example.
• "A religion is an organization where its members share a common set of spiritual beliefs" is a definition of "religion." Naming a specific religion would be an example.
